The beloved anime film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is set to make its grand debut in theaters across India, releasing in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu.

The teaser and poster were unveiled by Geek Pictures India, adding to the excitement. Legendary screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad, known for his work on blockbusters like Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and RRR, has contributed creatively to this adaptation.

Originally released in 1992, Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is a Japanese-Indian co-production that retells the Indian epic Ramayana. Directed by Yugo Sako and Ram Mohan, the film narrates the journey of Prince Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, as he battles the demon king Ravana to rescue his wife, Sita. The animation, blending both Japanese and Indian styles, and its faithful adaptation of the epic made it a standout depiction of Hindu mythology.

The film’s vivid animation, hand-drawn decades ago, continues to captivate audiences with its strong storytelling. While it initially faced some controversy in India over concerns about foreign filmmakers portraying the sacred text, it has since become a cherished animated adaptation.

Following the release of Om Raut’s Adipurush, interest in the film surged, with fans hailing it as the definitive version of the Ramayana. The English version features voices like Bryan Cranston and James Earl Jones, while the Hindi version includes Arun Govil and Amrish Puri.

Set for release during the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali, the film will be distributed by Geek Pictures India, AA Films, and Excel Entertainment, promising to captivate a new generation of audiences.
