New Dark Phoenix Trailer Is Massive???

New Dark Phoenix trailer hints at end for X-Men.
Dark Phoenix sees regular X-Men movie writer (and now director) Simon Kinberg looking to give the Dark Phoenix storyline its proper due, and a whole film in which to show how Jean's (Sophie Turner) powers are affected by a cosmic accident. Old, difficult truths are dredged up (particularly for James McAvoy's Professor Xavier) and as Jean's abilities increase, her ties to her human side start to waver, especially with the influence of Jessica Chastain's mysterious alien.
All of this is set against the backdrop of the 1990s, with the X-Men now considered heroes, regularly saving humans and generally praised by society at large. But that could all change with the lethal combo of Xavier's ego and Jean's growing capabilities.
All of that’s to say that Dark Phoenix isn’t exactly finding itself at the top of many people’s most-anticipated superhero movie of the year lists. It might just find itself at the top of a few worst movies of the year lists, though, if this new trailer is any indication of what’s in store. We hate to judge a book by its cover, but this latest preview for the flick is just seriously underwhelming, failing to offer up much worth getting excited about.
Not that the last trailer was much better, mind you, but what’s on display here likely won’t get too many people hyped up for Dark Phoenix, especially in a year which also sees the release of comic book movies such as Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home and more.
