Greyhound Trailer: The two-minute 38-second trailer is highly intriguing.

The official trailer of Tom Hanks’ upcoming offering, Greyhound, released online on Monday. Going by the two-minute 38-second clip, the war drama looks highly intriguing. It is packed with jaw-dropping action and Hanks, who plays the main man, appears to be in his top form.

The film is set in the year 1942 when World War II was in its early days. A US convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by Commander Ernest Krause (Hanks), crosses the treacherous North Atlantic when it is attacked by a wolfpack of German U-boats. The film focusses on Krause, who is given the command of a destroyer, USS Keeling (codenamed Greyhound). He is no typical hero and to be an effective leader, he must first deal with his own self-doubts and personal demons. 

The trailer has several moments that will send chills down your spine. Hanks, a legend in his own right, seems to have delivered a compelling performance. The scenes featuring him will surely give you goosebumps.

Greyhound, that has a screenplay written by Hanks himself, is based on The Good Shepherd, the 1955 war novel by CS Forester. Directed by Aaron Schneider, the film also features Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan and Elisabeth Shue in key roles. It is slated to hit the screens on June 12 this year. 

The trailer of Greyhound has come at a time when Hanks, 63, is battling against coronavirus. He and his wife Rita Wilson had tested positive a couple of days ago, news that left their well-wishers and supporters across the world in a state of shock.
