The film dates back in Pune during the 1900s where a small village of Tumbbad is cursed with rains happening every day. This prompts the young Vinayak and his family to go away and never come back. Many years later, adult Vinayak (Sohum Shah) comes back to the village to inherit the treasure which is housed in his ancestral mansion. Despite not paying heed to the villager's warnings about a monster haunting there, Vinayak's greed keeps him going and he goes completely deep into the mansion. An eerie and haunting voice stops him from inheriting the treasure and then that brings the ball in motion. Tumbbad is a Hindi Drama movie directed by Rahi Anil Barve, Anand Gandhi. The movie stars Sohum Shah, Harish Khanna in the lead roles and Ronjini Chakraborty, Anita Date, Mohd Samad, Jyoti Malshe, Dhundiraj Prabhakar Joglekar, Deepak Damle in Supporting roles.The movie is produced under the banner Eros International, Sohum Shah Films, Colour Yellow Productions. Music is composed by Ajay-Atul, Jesper Kyd. Pankaj Kumar has handled the cinematography while Sanyukta Kaza has done the editing.
