Story:

Thirumanam is a Tamil Drama movie directed by Cheran. The movie stars heran, Sukanya, Thambi Ramaiah in the lead roles and M.S. Baskar, Umapathy Ramaiah, Kavya Suresh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Bala Saravanan, Seema G Nair, Anupama in Supporting roles.The movie is produced under the banner Preniss International Private Limited. Music is composed by Siddharth Vipin.Rajesh Yadav has handled the cinematography while Ponnuvel Damodaran has done the editing.

There have been several Tamil films which showcased the intrinsic details involved in wedding preparations by the families of the bride and the groom. RS Prasanna's Kalyana Samayal Saadham was one such recent movie, which depicted the issues that arise between two families (though the basic plot of the movie revolved around a different subject). Thirumanam touches upon almost all aspects which are quintessential in a wedding. Read full review

Marriage is not uncharted territory for Cheran, the actor-director. His acting venture Raman Thediya Seethai(2008), traced the journey of a stammer to find his bride, and his Pirivom Santhippom(2008), was about a newlywed's struggles in a nuclear family. Thirumanam, his directorial, in a way can be called the last instalment of his marriage trilogy, as it is solely based on the flaws in the big fat Indian wedding. Read full review
