Taal is a 1999 romantic musical film starring Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. The film was well known for its songs. Manav, a young son of a billionaire based in London comes to India on a holiday and falls in love with Mansi who is a folk singer just like her father in the village and they are on the verge of getting married. But his family tend to humiliate them based on their social status and that separates the lovers. To cure her heartbreak, Mansi becomes part of a famous music director Vikrant Kapoor's leading lady and then becomes involved in a tug-of-war between Manav and Vikrant.
