Sagaa is a classic example of bad writing ruining a premise that has promise. Murugesh has the strands for an edge-of-the-seat thriller, but the script lacks logic while its characters lack common sense. The less said about the two romantic tracks the better. The director ends up trying too hard to inject some semblance of intensity with slow-motion shots and an overstuffed background score, but they are overkills. The young actors try their best, but it is never enough. Save for the classy visuals by cinematographer Niran Chander (the colour grading is top-notch) and a couple of hummable tunes from music director Shabir, Sagaa ends up as a frustrating watch.
