Operation Khukri is a Hindi War Film produced by Shah Rukh Khan's home production Red Chillies Entertainment. The film is based on Indian Army and Indian Air Force's rescue operation 'Operation Khukri' in Africa. Shah Rukh Khan will play a role of a fauji in the movie. Operation Khukri was a multinational operation launched in the United Nations Assistance Mission in Sierra Leone, involving India, Ghana, Britain and Nigeria. It was a mission to rescue around 223 peacekeepers of India who were sent to Sierra Leone by United Nations to help the government there in tackling Revolutionary United Front (RUF), a rebel group. Major (now Lt Col) Harinder Sood led the operation and around 120 IAF officers were flown from Indian to Africa for the same. The team was able to rescue all the peacekeepers.
