Buzz Lightyear crashlands the spaceship on an uncharted alien planet, destroying its hyperdrive system, and leaving all the passengers marooned. While everyone else settles down eventually, Lightyear keeps trying to fix the system and testing flights. Each time, he leaps four years into the future. When he does crack the system, the colony comes under threat from a robot overlord Zurg. To save the inhabitants, Buzz reluctantly teams up with a robot cat, Sox, his commander, and best friend’s granddaughter Izzy, an elderly convict, and a cowardly Kiwi. Whether they manage to go back to Earth or not is the story!
