L2 Empuraan, the second film in the Lucifer series, is anticipated as an action thriller. Serving as both a prequel and a sequel to the 2019 film Lucifer, it is directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, who also reprises his role as Zayed Masood. The screenplay is crafted by actor-director Murali Gopy and Manju Warrier. The sequel is expected to feature Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, and other prominent stars reprising their roles. The film's music is composed by Deepak Dev, with Sujith Vasudevg handling the cinematography. In Lucifer, Mohanlal portrayed the character of Stephen Nedumpally, a politician. However, in a mid-credits scene, it was revealed that he had another identity, Khureshi Ab’raam, the alleged leader of a global crime syndicate.
