Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam is a Tamil action drama movie written and directed by M. Muthaiya starring Arya in the lead role. Plot: In the rural district of Ramanathapuram, Tamizhselvi, a villager, faces pressure from her relatives to marry one of her uncle's sons in order to secure her inheritance. However, she staunchly refuses, leading her relatives to conspire against her with the help of the villagers. Cornered and left with no choice, Tamizhselvi embarks on a mission to find Kathar Basha, also known as Mutharamalingam, who is incarcerated. Spotting her relatives, Tamizhselvi decides to leave without meeting Kathar. Meanwhile, Kathar learns about Tamizhselvi's family situation and discovers that her uncle Kaluvan, who is also the village chieftain, had saved his life during an attack. Driven by a desire to protect Tamizhselvi from her relatives, Kathar confronts and defeats her uncle's sons. In an attempt to repay his debts, Kathar tries to find a suitable groom for Tamizhselvi, but his efforts prove futile. Eventually, Kathar learns that he is Kaluvan's long-lost son and that Kaluvan, due to various circumstances, was compelled to become the village chieftain. It is revealed that Kathar was raised by Jamad, a close friend of Kaluvan, after Kaluvan abandoned his family. As the story progresses, Kathar and Tamizhselvi fall in love and marry each other. However, their happiness is short-lived when Kathar is attacked one night by unknown assailants. He successfully defeats them, but it is later revealed that the orchestrated attack was masterminded by Vedigundu Veliyan. Veliyan's father, Veriyandi, aspired to become the chairman, but Jamad assumed the position to prevent potential trouble. In a confrontation, Veriyandi insulted and humiliated Jamad, leading Kathar to retaliate by severing Veriyandi's leg and hand. This act resulted in Kathar's imprisonment, and Veliyan vowed to seek revenge. Later, Tamizhselvi's relatives join forces with Veliyan to eliminate Kathar. In a bid to gain custody of her late brother's children, Tamizhselvi donates half of her wealth to her relatives. Tragically, during a bhoomi pooja (land consecration ceremony), Veliyan plants a bomb that kills Tamizhselvi. Consumed by rage, Kathar exacts vengeance by killing Tamizhselvi's relatives and ultimately avenging her death by slaying Veliyan.
