Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a sequel to 2016 Happy Bhag Jayegi Romantic Comedy Film directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Anand L. Rai and Krishika Lulla. The film features Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill, Ali Fazal in the lead roles. According to latest reports, Actress Sonakshi Sinha has also been roped in for Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns. Happy Bhag Jayegi was a romantic comedy which narrated the story of a girl named Happy, who runs away from her wedding and reaches Pakistan by mistake. Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill, Ali Fazal who featured in the original will also feature in the sequel Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi.

While the plot twists in this mad caper is predictable, what finally wears down this comedy is its interminable, long-winded length. But it has some smart, sassy one-liners. They don’t try too hard at the humour and that has its own appeal. You are likely to walk out of cinemas with a smile on your face, but that smile could have developed into a hearty grin had the length been snipped by at least 20 minutes. HPBJ is just as good as HBJ, if not better. It has good music too and for a change, the songs actually add value to the storytelling process. This film takes the ideas of the original and it adds a zany new twist to the proceedings.
