Overall Dhadak is an excellent piece of filmmaking with captivating performances from Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. It is Bollywood commercial cinema at its best. I add commercial, because unlike Sairat, which had a very independent film vibe, Dhadak, from the first scene will feel like a big budget film. But it is worth every penny and you will walk out of the theatre, satisfied with your investment. Read full review

While in Sairat everything slowly builds up to a great climax at the end, Dhadak’s scattered script takes away from its fairly imaginative final scene which definitely, if not path-breaking, is disturbing. Moreover, Khaitan’s glossy Dhadak looks less like a Sairat remake; and more like a new film in Dulhania series. It’s a completely forgettable remake that has a little chemistry between its leads and a few chuckles, but a consistently weak screenplay. Read full review
