Airlift is 2016 historical drama film starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles. The film was based on the evacuation of Indians in war-hit Kuwait in the 1990s. Ranjit Katyal is a successful businessman based in Kuwait and living a luxurious life with his wife Amrita and daughter Simmu. But his life is hit when the Iraqis hit Kuwait and many Kuwaitis are slaughtered. Ranjit realizes the worth of being an Indian and decides to help his countrymen by evacuating them from there.
