There were mixed responses when the teaser of 90ml was released. Many had come down heavily on portraying girls drinking, smoking and discussing about their sex lives in a casual manner. The makers were criticised for promoting pseudo feminism and spoiling the culture. However, the movie isn’t just about glorifying all these. There are scenes where girls are shown partying and sharing their personal issues, which involve lack of sex life, same sex love, misunderstanding with life partner, and so on. Read full review

In Tamil Cinema, every now and then we get a film that is not the run of the mill kind. Oviya's 90 ml is a film that wants to be different but there is nothing novel in it. It has all the elements an adult film should have, with a role reversal of sorts. When we've seen films where men sit along with their friends, and drink and lament about the way their spouses treat them. We've also seen female-centric films like Magalir Mattum where a woman makes her friends realise what freedom is. Combine both these genres and that's what 90 ml falls under. Read full review

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 gave Oviya a new lease of life, quite literally. A lot was expected after her Bigg Boss stint. Surprisingly, it took two years for her to complete a movie. And when the trailer of 90ML was released, it shocked everyone, courtesy the double entendre dialogues and ample scenes glorifying drinking and smoking disguised as equality. Read full review
