Sivakarthikeyan Doss, popularly known as SK, is an acclaimed Indian actor, playback singer, lyricist, producer, and television presenter who primarily works in Tamil cinema. Born on 17 February 1985 in Singampunari, Sivagangai district, he hails from a Telugu family with a public service background—his father was a jail superintendent and his mother a homemaker.
Sivakarthikeyan holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering and an MBA. He began his career in entertainment as a mimicry artist and rose to fame after winning the comedy reality show Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? in 2006. Initially a TV host, he transitioned into films with Marina (2012), followed by a breakthrough role in 3 alongside Dhanush. His performances in Ethir Neechal, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, and Remo cemented his status as a bankable lead actor.
Known for blending comedy, drama, and action, Sivakarthikeyan has consistently experimented with genres. He produced and starred in the critically acclaimed sports drama Kanaa and found commercial success with Doctor (2021) and Don (2022), both crossing ₹100 crore at the box office.
In 2024, his sci-fi film Ayalaan became one of the year’s biggest hits, followed by Amaran, a biographical action drama based on Army officer Mukund Varadarajan, which emerged as a major commercial and critical success. His next project, Madharasi, is directed by A. R. Murugadoss with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
Honored with the Kalaimamani Award in 2021, Sivakarthikeyan continues to be a dynamic and influential figure in Tamil cinema, balancing commercial appeal with meaningful storytelling.
