Shiva Rajkumar, born Nagaraju Shiva Puttaswamy on July 12, 1962, is a celebrated Indian actor, producer, and television presenter, best known for his work in Kannada cinema. With over 125 films to his credit, he has earned numerous awards, including four Karnataka State Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards South.
The eldest son of the legendary Dr. Rajkumar, Shiva made his acting debut as a child artist in Sri Srinivasa Kalyana (1974) and later starred in his first leading role in Anand (1986), a critical and commercial hit. His early successes, including Ratha Sapthami and Manamecchida Hudugi, earned him the title "Hat-trick Hero." Shiva's career reached new heights in the 1990s with iconic films like Om (1995), A.K. 47 (1999), and Jogi (2005), further solidifying his stardom.
Known for his versatility, Shiva has continued to dominate Kannada cinema, starring in blockbusters like Mufti (2017) and Tagaru (2018). In addition to his film career, he made his television debut in 2010 with Naaniruvude Nimagagi and ventured into producing TV serials and web series.
Married to Geeta, the daughter of former Karnataka CM Sarekoppa Bangarappa, Shiva is actively involved in charity work. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2014 and is recognized for his ongoing contributions to the Kannada film industry.
