He holds the distinction of being the only Indian actor to have two films competing at prestigious film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, and Sundance.
Shashank Arora showed a keen interest in music and theatre from a young age. After completing high school in Delhi, he pursued higher education in Canada, where he briefly joined a street theatre group formed by human rights activists. In 2008, he relocated to Mumbai and studied acting for two years, laying the foundation for his acting career. His parents, who are graphic designers and writers, played a significant role in inspiring his passion for cinema.

He credits his professor Robert Reece from the Actors Studio in Los Angeles for his knowledge and skills. Additionally, he worked as a guest teacher at Whistling Woods International and Film and Television Institute of India. Arora also gained experience under casting director Saher Latif.
His acting journey began with a supporting role in the film Myoho (2012) and later gained recognition for his titular role in the critically acclaimed movie Titli (2014), produced by Yash Raj Films. The film competed at the Cannes Film Festival and received nominations for Arora as Best Newcomer at various award ceremonies. In 2016, he appeared in the movie Brahman Naman, which competed at the Sundance Film Festival, solidifying his unique distinction as the first Indian actor to have films showcased at both Cannes and Sundance.
Arora continued to showcase his versatility in films like Rock On 2 (2016), Zoo (2017), Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017), The Song of Scorpions (2017), and Manto (2018). He also appeared in short films and made his mark in the Amazon Prime series Made In Heaven (2019) and the Malayalam-Hindi bilingual film Moothon (2019), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
