Bio:
Born on April 5, 1996, in Virajpet, Karnataka, Rashmika Mandanna is an Indian actress celebrated for her work across Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil cinema. She has garnered widespread acclaim, clinching four SIIMA Awards and a Filmfare Award. In 2024, she was also honored in Forbes India's prestigious "30 Under 30" list.
Rashmika embarked on her acting journey with the Kannada film "Kirik Party" in 2016, swiftly making a mark in the industry. Her subsequent ventures in Kannada cinema, such as "Anjani Putra" and "Chamak" in 2017, further solidified her reputation. However, it was her Telugu debut in "Chalo" (2018) and the subsequent blockbuster "Geetha Govindam" that propelled her to stardom. Rashmika's portrayal in "Geetha Govindam" earned her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.
She continued her success streak with hits like "Devadas" (2018), "Sarileru Neekevvaru" (2020), and "Bheeshma" (2020) in Telugu cinema. Rashmika expanded her horizons with her Tamil debut in "Sulthan" (2021), followed by the action-packed "Varisu" (2023), which became a top-grosser in Tamil cinema.
Rashmika soared to even greater heights with her role in "Pushpa: The Rise" (2021), where she mesmerized audiences as Srivalli. Subsequently, she ventured into Hindi cinema with "Animal" (2023), marking her highest-grossing release in the language.
Beyond her acting prowess, Rashmika's personal journey is equally compelling. Hailing from a Kodava Hindu family, she faced financial hardships in her childhood, shaping her perspective on money. Despite initial communication struggles, Rashmika's determination led her to excel academically and professionally.
Rashmika pursued a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Journalism, and English Literature before venturing into acting. Despite initial skepticism from her parents, she pursued her passion, eventually earning accolades such as The Times of India's Clean & Clear Fresh Face award.
Her personal life has also been under scrutiny, particularly her engagement with co-star Rakshit Shetty during the production of "Kirik Party," which ended in 2018 due to compatibility issues.
