Pooja Bhatt, born on February 24, 1972, is an Indian film director, actress, voice-over artist, and filmmaker. She belongs to the renowned Bhatt family and is the daughter of Indian filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Pooja Bhatt made her debut as a lead actress in her father's television film "Daddy" in 1989, for which she received the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year for Best Female Debut.

Born into a mixed heritage, Pooja Bhatt's father is of Gujarati descent, while her mother, Kiran Bhatt, has English, Scottish, Armenian, and Burmese ancestry. She has a brother named Rahul Bhatt and half-sisters Shaheen and Alia Bhatt. Pooja Bhatt is also the step-daughter of Soni Razdan, and her cousins include Hitarth Bhat and Emraan Hashmi.

Pooja Bhatt began her acting career at the age of 17 with the TV film "Daddy" directed by her father. She portrayed a troubled teenager trying to reconnect with her alcoholic father, played by Anupam Kher. Her breakthrough in Bollywood came with the musical hit "Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin" in 1991, a remake of the Hollywood classic "It Happened One Night."

In 2020, Pooja Bhatt returned to acting with "Sadak 2," a sequel to the 1991 hit film. She made her web series debut in 2021 with the Netflix series "Bombay Begums." In 2022, she appeared in the film "Chup: Revenge of the Artist."
