Bio:
Kamal Haasan is an Indian actor, director, producer, and screenwriter who works primarily in Tamil cinema and has also appeared in some Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, and Bengali films. He started his acting career as a child actor when he was just three-and-a-half-year-old with the 1959 film Kalathur Kannamma. He has won several awards, including four National Film Awards and 19 Filmfare Awards. He has been honoured with Padma Shri in 1990, the Padma Bhushan in 2014. Besides winning three National Awards, he has also won the coveted French honour of Chevalier Award. He is the second Tamil actor to have won this French award after thespian Sivaji Ganesan.He is also a trained classical dancer and has been actively involved in Indian politics.
