Dhanush starrer ‘Captain Miller’ directed by Arun Matheswaran will soon start shooting

Arun Matheswaran made his debut with ‘Rocky’ in 2021 and his latest release was ‘Saani Kaayidham’ and both the films have been critically acclaimed and are a successful hit. While it was earlier announced that Dhanush will be playing the lead role in ‘Captain Miller’, reports suggest that actress Priyanka Arul Mohan will likely play the female lead in the movie.

According to reports, the director and his team are in talks with Priyanka Arul Mohan to play the female lead. Official announcement from the movie makers is yet to be made. ‘Captain Miller’ is an action-adventure film set in the time period of the 1930s. In a recent interview, Arun Matheswaran stated that the film is moulded to be a big budget to cater to pan Indian audience and reportedly said that the film will have a generic humour and will have his style of dark humour.

The film is currently in its pre-production stage. Meanwhile, Dhanush is awaiting the release of his film ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ in theatres on July 28. The actor’s last 4 films – ‘Karnan’, ‘Maaran’, ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ and ‘Atrangi Re’ were all released on OTT and the actor is making it to the big screens nearly after 3 years. Dhanush is also making his Hollywood debut with the film ‘The Gray Man’ which will premiere on OTT on July 22.

He has completed the shooting for Selvaraghavan’s ‘Naane Varuven’ and is now filming for Tamil – Telugu bilingual film titled ‘Vaathi’. It is expected that Dhanush will begin his work for ‘Captain Miller’ after his schedule is completed for ‘Vaathi’.
