Param Sundari Movie Review: Love Beyond Borders

Plot & Premise

Param dreams of turning his dating app into a big success, but his father (Sanjay Kapoor) refuses to invest without proof of concept. The challenge: Param must find his soulmate online within a month. His search leads him to the serene landscapes of Kerala and to Sundari Damodaram Pillai.

What begins as a casual experiment soon turns into something real. While Param falls head over heels, Sundari remains unimpressed—more so when she discovers she’s become part of his business experiment. Adding to the tension, she’s already engaged to Venu Gopal (Siddhartha Shankar). Can Param’s charm and persistence win her heart?

Direction & Screenplay

Director Tushar Jalota doesn’t break new ground—this rom-com plays on familiar tropes of cultural clashes and opposites attract. Yet, the film’s breezy narrative, light humour, and steady pacing make it watchable. The first half builds nicely with situational comedy and tender moments, keeping viewers engaged without dragging.

What really works for Param Sundari is its picturesque Kerala setting, which adds freshness and authenticity to the love story. The music by Sachin–Jigar, with tracks like Pardesiya, Danger, and Sundari Ke Pyaar Mein, beautifully complements the narrative. The biggest highlight, however, is the sparkling chemistry between Sidharth and Janhvi, whose effortless rapport makes the romance feel believable. Janhvi impresses in her traditional Malayali look, while Sidharth brings a fine balance of boyish charm and emotional depth. The supporting cast, including Sanjay Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Renji Panicker, and Siddhartha Shankar, also add strength to the film.

Verdict

Param Sundari may not rewrite the rom-com rulebook, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a light, entertaining love story filled with cultural flavour, gorgeous visuals, and a charming lead pair. Fans of breezy romances will find it a delightful weekend watch.
