Padi Padi Leche Manasu is set in Kolkata, the romantic drama chronicles the shared destiny of a young couple as they navigate through the highs and lows of a budding relationship.
The film Padi Padi Leche Manasu revolves around Surya (Sharwanand) who falls in love with Vaishali (Sai Pallavi) in first sight. The rest of the movie shows how he tries to impress her in every way possible. One fine day, he builds up a lie for her by saying that she has a boyfriend. Vaishali becomes curious and tries to find out who the mysterious guy is and then the lie gets exposed during this point.
Despite all this, they become a good couple and start loving each other. The story then shifts to Nepal when the conflict between the lead pair takes place and then an earthquake which brings the ball rolling at this point.
The second half becomes a cringefest when Vaishali gets amnesiac after getting injured in the earthquake and multiple conflicts disrupt the progress of the film in the process.
The first half enlightens up our mood throughout the film and with melodious tracks in between, we might expect that the film might have a power-premise in the second half but this one went completely downhill. The director Hanumantha Rao Raghavapudi has not taken care of the second half properly and this will force you to step out of the theatres after seeing nonsensical stuff on the screen.
Despite the tepid story, the main highlight of the film is the stunning landscape of Kolkata ranging from Victoria Memorial, bylanes, Durga Puja festivities. All these elements are captured beautifully. Even the conflict seems to be very silly and unrealistic which will make you bore throughout the film.
Overall, most of the important highlights of the film ranging from songs to chemistry between the lead actors and stunning visuals have checked the list but the story needs some reworking which the director failed.
