Plot:

Mardaani 3 follows senior police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukerjee) as she takes on yet another disturbing crime that exposes the dark underbelly of human trafficking. The story begins with the abduction of two young girls, one of whom is connected to influential circles, making the case even more sensitive. As Shivani digs deeper, she uncovers a well-organized trafficking racket led by a ruthless woman known as Amma. What follows is a tense chase across cities, layered with emotional stakes, moral conflicts, and a relentless pursuit of justice. The film stays rooted in realism, highlighting how crime, power, and exploitation intersect in society, while Shivani fights not just criminals but a deeply broken system.

Mardaani 3 Movie Review:

Director Abhiraj Minawala keeps the soul of the Mardaani franchise intact, delivering a tense and socially relevant thriller that largely works on its emotional weight and performances. The first half focuses on setting up the investigation and characters, slowly building tension. While the pacing is slightly measured, it serves the story well and leads to a powerful interval block that raises expectations significantly.

The second half becomes more intense and action-driven, with higher emotional stakes and confrontations. Though a few sequences feel predictable and the antagonist’s backstory could have been explored with more depth, the film still manages to hold attention through its urgency and raw treatment. Some portions lean toward melodrama, but the core narrative remains engaging.

Rani Mukerji is the backbone of Mardaani 3. She delivers a commanding performance filled with restraint, anger, and emotional depth. Her portrayal of Shivani Shivaji Roy once again proves why the character is among the most iconic female cops in Hindi cinema. She dominates every frame and carries the film with remarkable ease.

Mallika Prasad is effective as Amma, bringing an unsettling presence to the screen, while Prajesh Kashyap supports the narrative well. Janki Bodiwala leaves a positive impression in her role, lending emotional depth to the narrative. While the antagonists may not match the impact of previous installments, the performances remain effective within the story’s framework.

Technically, the film is solid. The background score by John Stewart Eduri enhances the tension without overpowering the scenes, and the action choreography stays grounded and realistic, avoiding unnecessary stylization. The cinematography supports the dark tone well, keeping the mood intense and immersive.

Overall, Mardaani 3 is a gripping, socially relevant crime thriller that stays true to the spirit of the franchise. While it may not surpass the highs of its predecessors entirely, it remains a powerful watch driven by a commanding lead performance and a strong thematic core. For fans of hard-hitting dramas and Rani Mukerji’s Shivani Shivaji Roy, this one is definitely worth your time.
