The film feeds on its emotional highs, iconic moments, and the power of M.M. Keeravani's reworked score to recreate some of the Baahubali magic.
The makers of Baahubali: The Epic had to face the enormous challenge of keeping viewers' attention riveted for almost four hours-a difficult task, considering that most fans have seen both parts many times. Yet, despite familiarity, the movie stands as a tribute to a cinematic marvel that defined an era in Indian filmmaking.
To be fair, the filmmakers put in tremendous effort to impress the audience once again. But since the story and the twists are already etched in everyone's mind, the narrative doesn't carry the same surprise factor. Instead, the film works best as a journey down memory lane - a chance to relive the grandeur, the goosebumps, and the celebratory spirit that Baahubali brought to theaters years ago.
Special mention must be made of music maestro M.M. Keeravani, who has reworked the background score for this epic version. Laced with new layers and nuances, it sounds fresh and emotionally stirring. His music continues to elevate the visuals and gives a new depth and energy to some of the familiar scenes.
Personally, the emotional high point of the film is in the second half and particularly when Sivagami asks Kattappa to kill Baahubali. In about 10-15 minutes of that setup, Keeravani’s score swells in intensity and the powerful emotional connection that creates sustains upto the climax. That stretch alone delivers the satisfaction of a ticket well spent. Overall: Baahubali: The Epic isn't about discovering something new but revisiting what made us fall in love with this saga in the first place. Go ahead, relive your favorite moments, and find your own slice of nostalgia in this grand re-release.
