Venkatesh Daggubati’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam OTT Rights Sold for ₹27 Crore? Here’s What We Know

According to OneIndia, ZEE5 has acquired the digital streaming rights of Sankranthiki Vasthunam for a whopping ₹27 crore. However, instead of an immediate OTT release, the platform has decided to premiere the film on television first. This has delayed the official streaming date, which remains unannounced despite the movie completing over a month in theaters.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is an action-comedy starring Venkatesh as YD Raju, a former IPS officer leading a peaceful life in a village with his wife. However, when a high-profile kidnapping case arises, his ex-girlfriend, who is the investigating officer, seeks his help. This leads to a chaotic and entertaining turn of events as his wife, suspicious of her husband's involvement, joins the mission.

The film features Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female leads, with an ensemble supporting cast including Srinivasa Reddy, Sai Kumar, Upendra Limaye, Raghu Babu, and Naresh.

Following the film’s success, Venkatesh has confirmed that Sankranthiki Vasthunam will have a sequel, slated for release in Sankranthi 2027. Meanwhile, the veteran actor is also gearing up for the second season of Rana Naidu on Netflix, where he reprises his role as Naga Naidu.

With a blockbuster theatrical run and a record OTT deal, Sankranthiki Vasthunam continues to be a major talking point among fans and industry insiders.
