Ugly Story Sets May 22 Release, Promises Dark Psychological Drama

Shree Nandu is gearing up for his next release, Ugly Story, a psychological thriller that is set to hit theatres on May 22. Directed by Pranav Swaroop, the film stars Avika Gor as the female lead.

After his previous outing Psych Siddhartha, which failed to make a mark at the box office despite decent expectations, Nandu is aiming for a stronger impact with this intense drama. The film carries the tagline, “Every love has a dark side… and this one is brutally real,” hinting at its darker narrative tone.

Ugly Story revolves around a man who develops an obsessive attachment to a woman already in love with someone else. As he struggles to cope with rejection, his emotions spiral into a dangerous psychological breakdown, driving the story into unsettling territory.

Avika Gor, who is also seeking a comeback after her recent film Shanmukha underperformed, plays a crucial role in the narrative. The film also features Ravi Teja Mahadasyam in a key part.

The teaser, released recently, has sparked curiosity among audiences, and the makers are set to unveil the trailer on May 6 as part of the promotional campaign. The film’s music is composed by Shravan Bharadwaj, with production handled by Ch Subhashini, Konda Lakshman, and Bekkem Venugopal.
