The Raja Saab Trailer 2.0: Prabhas Enters a Dark, Fantastical World of Horror and Myth

The makers of Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab unveiled a brand-new trailer titled 2.0 on Monday, offering audiences a deeper look into the film’s fantastical universe and a clearer sense of its storyline. The trailer expands the film’s myth-driven narrative while revealing several new layers of spectacle and intrigue.

After growing up listening to eerie tales about his grandfather, Prabhas’ character finally decides to confront his past. His quest leads him to a spellbinding mansion where nothing is what it seems and reality itself feels like an illusion. Determined to face his ancestor, Raja Saab overcomes every obstacle in his path, a journey that gradually unfolds into time travel and a deeper understanding of his lineage and family history.

Interestingly, the new trailer repositions The Raja Saab as a horror-fantasy rather than the horror-comedy it was initially promoted as. The shift in tone is underscored in the final moments, where Prabhas appears in a Joker-inspired avatar, hinting at him embracing his darker side to confront his demonic, long-dead grandfather.

The trailer is packed with grand, VFX-heavy visuals that stand out both in scale and execution, while Thaman S’ powerful background score elevates the mood with its rousing energy. Sanjay Dutt essays the role of the mysterious and terrifying grandfather, with Zarina Wahab playing Prabhas’ grandmother. Boman Irani appears as the wise caretaker of the mansion, guiding the protagonist through his dangerous quest.

Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar as the female leads. The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, with cinematography by Karthik Palani, production design by Rajeevan, and editing by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao.

The Raja Saab is set for a grand theatrical release on January 9, 2026, with special premiere shows planned for January 8. It will be one of the major Telugu releases during the Sankranthi festive season.
