SS Rajamouli Unveils First Look of Mahesh Babu’s ‘SSMB29’ on Actor’s 50th Birthday

Superstar Mahesh Babu has teamed up with acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli for a globe-trotting adventure thriller, tentatively titled SSMB29. Also starring Priyanka Chopra, the film was announced in 2024 and began production earlier this year. While the team has remained tight-lipped about the story, fans received a special treat on Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday.

Taking to X, Rajamouli addressed cinema lovers worldwide and Mahesh’s fans, acknowledging their anticipation. “It has been a while since we began shooting, and we appreciate your eagerness to know about the film,” he wrote. Explaining the silence, Rajamouli revealed that the story’s vast scope cannot be captured through mere pictures or press meets. Instead, the team is crafting a unique reveal to showcase the film’s essence, scale, and immersive world, scheduled for November 2025. He promised it would be a “never-before-seen” presentation.

Alongside his message, Rajamouli unveiled a striking poster featuring what appears to be Mahesh Babu’s chest in a low-cut vest, blood smeared across part of it. Around his neck hangs a pendant with Lord Shiva’s trishul and Nandi. The filmmaker captioned it, “The First Reveal in November 2025… #GlobeTrotter.”

Though plot details remain under wraps, SSMB29 is said to be a massive adventure spanning several countries, merging Indian culture with worldwide appeal. Mahesh Babu reportedly plays a physically demanding role, with intense action sequences shot in exotic locations. The role, inspired by Lord Hanuman, required him to undergo rigorous training and build significant muscle mass.
