SS Rajamouli Launches Teaser of Sree Vishnu’s Mrithyunjay, Calls It Gripping and Intriguing

Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli unveiled the teaser of Sree Vishnu’s upcoming investigative thriller Mrithyunjay, praising the way it has been crafted. Sharing the teaser on social media, Rajamouli wrote, “Loved the way the #Mrithyunjay teaser is crafted. Feels like he’s chasing the truth. Best wishes to Vishnu, Hussain and Sunny. Looking forward to Feb 27.”

Following the online launch, the team hosted a grand event where the teaser was screened for media and fans. Directed by Hussain Sha Kiran, the film is presented by Ramya Gunnam and produced by Sandeep Gunnam and Vinay Chilakapati.

After the blockbuster success of Samajavaragamana, Sree Vishnu reunites with Reba Monica John for Mrithyunjay, which is slated for release on February 27.

Speaking at the event, Sree Vishnu described the film as a “complete thriller,” highlighting its unconventional approach. “Honest thrillers without songs, without a typical heroine track, and without comedy are very rare in Telugu cinema. Hussain has made this film with utmost sincerity. Sandeep produced it with the intention of delivering quality content,” he said.

He added that the film will offer a fresh cinematic experience, with unique visuals and locations. “Kaala Bhairava has created magic with his music. The film revolves around very few characters. Even my performance will feel different. Once the trailer is out, the story will be understood even better,” Vishnu noted.

Director Hussain Sha Kiran revealed that several producers earlier questioned the absence of a love track or comedy. “But Sandeep told me to narrate the story I truly believed in,” he shared. He also praised Sree Vishnu for suggesting a powerful antagonist to strengthen the narrative, adding, “In this film, the story itself is the hero.”

The technical team includes Kaala Bhairava as composer, Sreekar Prasad as editor, and production designer Manisha. With strong backing and Rajamouli’s endorsement, Mrithyunjay has generated significant buzz ahead of its February 27 release.
