After its theatrical release earlier this year, Kaliyugam, starring Shraddha Srinath and Kishore, is now set for its OTT premiere. The futuristic drama will stream on Simply South from June 20, but only for international audiences.
Shraddha Srinath’s dystopian thriller Kaliyugam is gearing up for its digital release after hitting theatres earlier this year. Directed by Pramodh Sundar, the film will be available for streaming on Simply South starting June 20, 2025. However, the release is exclusive to international viewers and will not be accessible in India.
Set in the year 2064, Kaliyugam is a post-apocalyptic drama that unfolds in a world ravaged by endless catastrophes. The film presents a stark division in society, where a massive wall separates the privileged “residents” from the struggling underclass. In this harsh setting, actor Kishore plays a man named Sketch, who stumbles upon a hidden safe house filled with luxuries typically reserved for the elite—ironically located outside the secured zones. This discovery sparks a chain of events that challenges the social structure and questions the price of survival and privilege.
Shraddha Srinath plays a pivotal role in the narrative, adding emotional depth to the futuristic tale. The supporting cast includes Iniyan Subramani, Asmal, Harry, Mithun, David Santhosh, Master Ronith, and Kesavan. Upon its theatrical release, the film received mixed reviews—praised for its ambitious vision and concept, but criticized for its execution and uneven storytelling.
With its unique blend of sci-fi, social commentary, and emotional drama, Kaliyugam is now poised to reach a global audience through its OTT release, expanding the visibility of contemporary regional cinema on the international stage.
