Shraddha Kapoor plays Amritha Nair, a crime branch officer, in the film.

The team of Saaho unveiled its much-awaited trailer on Saturday evening which instantly went viral on social media. Written and directed by Sujeeth, the film stars Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor and will release simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil on August 30.

Leading up to the trailer launch, the unit has been unveiling posters of some of its key supporting actors — Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Vennela Kishore and Arun Vijay. Saaho also stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Murali Sharma and Mandira Bedi.

From the trailer, it seems that Prabhas will be playing the role of an undercover official investigating a robbery case, with Shraddha playing the role of Amritha Nair, a crime branch officer. The video has a mix of romance, suspense and action sequences, with the last shot showing a bare-bodied Prabhas washing blood off his body.

There's also a shot of the actor leaping off a cliff and a high-rise building crashing. The extensive VFX work required in the film is said to be the reason behind its delay. It was originally supposed to hit the screens on August 15.

The trailer has everything that fans of Prabhas were expecting from it — high-on-action sequences, cutting-edge visual effects, and catchy dialogues. Look out for Prabhas talking about what it takes to set the stakes high, with a comparison of hitting sixers from a cricket stadium as opposed to doing it from a gully cricket match.

After S.S. Rajamouli's Baahubali series, Saaho is the most ambitious project from Telugu cinema. The team hopes to catch the attention of the pan-Indian audience and bank on the popularity of Prabhas.

Kamalakannan, and has action directors Kenny Bates, Peng Zhang, Dhilip Shubbarayan, Stunt Shiva, Bob Brown and Ram-Laksman on board.

Saaho is directed by Sujeeth and V Vamshi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati are bankrolling the film under the banner of UV creations on a whopping budget of Rs 300 crore.
