Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ listed as ‘Pethi’ in Tamil promo — error or official title?

A curious development has caught the attention of fans following the latest promo from Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi. The Tamil version of the promo for the first single, Chikiri Chikiri, released by Mythri Movie Makers, refers to the film as Pethi instead of Peddi. This has led to widespread speculation over whether it was a technical error or if Pethi is, in fact, the film’s official Tamil title.

Interestingly, while the Tamil version displays Pethi in Tamil script, the English text in the same promo retains the spelling “Peddi.” The word Pethi has no direct meaning in Tamil, whereas Peddi in Telugu denotes “elder” or “respected person.” The inconsistency has sparked debate among fans online, with many awaiting clarification from the makers.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal parts. Peddi is being presented by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Sukumar Writings, and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, with Ishan Saksena as co-producer.

On the technical front, the project boasts an impressive team: A.R. Rahman composing the music, R. Rathnavelu handling cinematography, Navin Nooli in charge of editing, and Avinash Kolla leading production design. Notably, Jani Master, known for his dynamic choreography, joins the team for the dance sequences.

The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 27, 2026, with the first song dropping this Friday. Whether the Pethi listing was intentional or an error remains to be seen, but it has certainly piqued audience curiosity.
