Kannappa Trailer Out: A Mythological Spectacle Featuring Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Vishnu Manchu

The highly anticipated trailer of Kannappa has been officially released, offering audiences a spectacular glimpse into one of the most ambitious mythological dramas of recent times. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film stars Vishnu Manchu in the titular role alongside powerhouse appearances by Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, Prabhas as Rudra, and Mohanlal as Kirata.

Set for a worldwide theatrical release on June 27, 2025, Kannappa is being touted as a major pan-Indian release. Produced by veteran actor Mohan Babu under the banners of Twenty Four Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, the project is particularly close to Vishnu Manchu, who also authored the story and screenplay.

However, the film’s momentum hit a serious snag when reports surfaced regarding the theft of a crucial VFX hard disk. An executive producer filed a complaint at Hyderabad’s Film Nagar police station, alleging that an office assistant, Raghu, and a woman named Charitha went missing after taking possession of the disk. The stolen data is believed to contain over 90 minutes of unreleased footage, which the culprits reportedly plan to leak online.

In a press interaction, Vishnu Manchu confirmed that their VFX work spans multiple cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Dubai, and London. He explained that the disk was routed to their Film Nagar residence as part of routine logistics but went missing shortly after delivery. “It was handed over to Raghu and Charitha, and they have been missing since then,” Vishnu revealed.

Despite this setback, the makers remain committed to delivering a cinematic experience that blends faith, sacrifice, and devotion, celebrating the legendary tale of Bhaktha Kannappa.

With its star-studded ensemble, epic visuals, and emotional depth, Kannappa is poised to be one of the landmark mythological films of 2025.
