Raw and Rustic! A Remake which doesn't feel like one, the story is adapted so smartly. Indeed there are some cinematic touches but Overall movie tries to be as realistic as watchable. Review

Falaknuma das isn't a regular commercial movie, hence nothing goes over the top. The first half tries to chronicle the life of an average youngster in falaknuma, a place in Hyderabad, through there to start a successful business. The slang and dialect are specially taken care to be as authentic as watchable. There are no dedicated villains just some bad situations the ends up The protagonist with some irreversible bad choices.

it is an experience-based movie and as they say, experiences can be good or bad for you but to know you have to experience it, same is the case with Falaknama das. You may relate to it or you may not but you will definitely be amazed by how the events are captured without taking sides and left it for you to judge either good or bad. disclaimer the entertainment isn't conventional here.

The second highlight of the movie is its camera work. Remember the camera work of Santosh Sivan in Mani Ratnam movie  'iddaru' (1997), like the one in which camera rotates around the political speaker ? in falaknuma das's climax sequence the camera follows the actor from back making us feel someone will turn up back and attack the protagonist from the back. it's like you are watching the movie from a character's eyes with a limited range of sight contrary to our regular way of watching movies from a broader view encompassing all aspects of the surroundings. even the fight sequences they are also captured interestingly giving us a new perspective to watch the same fight scenes.

Verdict

Raw and Rustic! A Remake which doesn't feel like one, the story is adapted so smartly. Indeed there are some cinematic touches but Overall movie tries to be as realistic as watchable. The camera work is commendable and experimental, which gives the movie more authenticity. Do not expect conclusions or morals just observe whatever is happening!
