Emraan Hashmi Joins Telugu Cinema with Pawan Kalyan’s ‘OG’: A Ruthless Rivalry Unleashed

Emraan Hashmi is officially stepping into Telugu cinema with OG, a move that has fans buzzing with excitement. Sharing his enthusiasm, Emraan said, “I was thrilled when I was approached for this film as it would mark my foray into Telugu cinema. What better way to do that than locking horns with superstar Pawan Kalyan on celluloid.”

Directed by Sujeeth, OG is a gangster action drama crafted on a global scale. The recently unveiled birthday teaser ended on a striking note — Pawan Kalyan’s Ojas Gambheera standing tall after a brutal fight. In contrast, Emraan plays a ruthless crime lord who takes control in Ojas’s absence, paving the way for an explosive confrontation.

Talking about his experience, Emraan shared, “Working with director Sujeeth and Pawan Kalyan was fantastic. Right from my look to my lines and characterisation, I loved everything about it. I was excited to be part of this film.”

The ensemble cast also features Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Prakash Raj, and Sriya Reddy. Backed by DVV Danayya of RRR fame under DVV Entertainment, the film boasts music by Thaman S, with Ravi K Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa handling cinematography. OG is slated for a grand theatrical release in September 2025.

Distribution rights for North India and Nepal have been secured by Monk Films and Vibrant Vista Entertainments, extending the film’s reach beyond Telugu-speaking audiences.

Meanwhile, Emraan, last seen in the action thriller Ground Zero, has more Telugu projects lined up, including G2 — the sequel to Goodachari — and the second installment of Awarapan, expected in 2026.
