Following the massive success of Akhanda, Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu reunite for Akhanda 2: Thandavam, promising an even grander spectacle. The teaser, released ahead of Balakrishna’s birthday, teases high-octane action, spiritual intensity, and thunderous visuals.
The film hits theaters this Dussehra, clashing with Pawan Kalyan’s OG.
After setting the box office on fire with Akhanda in 2021, the powerhouse duo of Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu are back with its explosive sequel, Akhanda 2: Thandavam. The film promises to double down on the high-voltage action, spiritual power, and mass appeal that defined the original. Balakrishna returns in his iconic, larger-than-life role, channeling divine intensity and raw aggression in a way that only he can.
The teaser, dropped a day ahead of Balayya’s birthday, gave fans a stormy glimpse of what to expect. Released in five languages—Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam—the teaser features Balakrishna in a fiery, divine avatar performing what fans are calling a “Rudhra Thandava.” SS Thaman’s pulse-pounding background score adds to the intensity, amplifying the epic scale of the visuals and stunts.
Boyapati Sreenu, known for delivering high-octane drama with mythological flair, seems to have scaled things up for this sequel. The action sequences are more elaborate, the visuals more spiritual and intense, and the dialogues more powerful. Fans are already thrilled, flooding social media with praise. Comments celebrating Balakrishna’s age-defying screen presence and solo star power are going viral—many noting that at 65, he continues to dominate single-handedly without relying on multistarrers.
With Akhanda 2: Thandavam scheduled for a theatrical release on September 25, during the Dussehra holiday, expectations are sky-high. It also sets the stage for a major box office face-off with Pawan Kalyan’s OG, making this festive season one of the most anticipated in Telugu cinema.
