Texla: Jai & Suraj Venjaramoodu Lead Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s Next

Actors Jai and Suraj Venjaramoodu are set to headline Texla, the upcoming directorial venture of Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The film was officially launched with a pooja ceremony held in Chennai on Friday.

The project is produced by Kannan Ravi under the banner of KRG Group, which recently backed Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil starring Jiiva.

Set in a rural landscape several decades ago, Texla is expected to explore stories rooted in the world of children. The film’s music will be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, marking his second collaboration with Aishwarya after Vai Raja Vai.

Aishwarya made her directorial debut with 3, starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan. She later directed Vai Raja Vai and Lal Salaam, which featured Vishnu Vijay and Vikranth in lead roles, with Rajinikanth appearing in a special cameo.

The makers are planning a pan-Indian release for Texla in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. More details regarding the extended cast, genre and storyline are expected to be revealed in the coming months.

On the work front, Jai was last seen in Baby and Baby and currently has films like Karuppar Nagaram, Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai and Worker in different stages of production. Meanwhile, Suraj Venjaramoodu recently appeared in Narivetta and made his Tamil debut with Veera Dheera Sooran starring Vikram.

Suraj will next share screen space with Rajinikanth in Jailer 2. His upcoming lineup also includes Bharathanatyam 2 — Mohiniyattam in Malayalam and the Tamil films Youth and Kara. Youth, directed by Ken Karunaas, is set to release on March 19, while Kara, starring Dhanush, is slated for April 30.
