Suriya 46 Nears Completion as Wrap Photo Goes Viral; Summer 2026 Release Planned

Suriya’s upcoming film Suriya 46, directed by Venky Atluri, appears to have completed its shooting. A photo bearing the words “It’s a wrap #Suriya46,” along with a camera unit, has been widely circulating on social media, sparking speculation about the film’s completion. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement confirming the wrap.

The film features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, with Bhavani Sre, Radikaa Sarathkumar, and Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon playing pivotal roles. Produced by Naga Vamsi under the Sithara Entertainments banner, the project has been positioned as a content-driven entertainer.

In a recent interview, director Venky Atluri described Suriya 46 as a “proper happy family film” rooted in strong human emotions. He also revealed that Suriya’s character carries shades reminiscent of Sanjay Ramaswamy from Ghajini, a glimpse of which was hinted at in the first-look poster released on the actor’s birthday in July.

Music for the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, marking his third collaboration with Venky Atluri after Vaathi (2023) and Lucky Baskhar (2024), and his second with Suriya after Soorarai Pottru (2020). The technical team also includes editor Navin Nooli and cinematographer Nimish Ravi. Suriya 46 is slated for a theatrical release in summer 2026.

Meanwhile, Suriya is gearing up to begin work on his 47th film, directed by Jithu Madhavan. He reportedly completed the final schedule of Suriya 46 in Hyderabad before moving on to the next project. The yet-untitled film stars Naslen and Nazriya Fahadh in key roles, with music composed by Sushin Shyam. Additionally, Suriya’s Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, is currently in post-production and awaiting release.
