The latest film Seethakaathi which stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role explores the life of an actor who lives with simplicity and doesn't care about the glittery lifestyle of the film industry which treats everyone as use & throw system.

Ayya (Vijay Sethupathi) is a veteran in the theatre industry and he is predominantly into acting stage plays his entire life. Most of his characters involve mostly playing part in mythological plays like Lava Kusa and this period takes the viewers on time-travelling back to the 1950s to 2013. He suddenly decides to give it a try in films and gets a successful run in the box office but fate steps in when he backs out of a film and that brings a pandemonium in most of the producers' lives.

The next few minutes revolves around some intense moments in the movie, ranging from multiple court cases to dejected fans to the importance of family life. These sequences take the viewers on a rollercoaster ride where a lot of ups and downs take place.

This happens to be Vijay Sethupathi's 25th film in his career and he is definitely out of his comfort zone by portraying the role of a 70-year-old theatre veteran. He breathes into the skin of the actor ranging from the speaking style to the body language.

Mauli plays a very important role in the movie. The actor plays the role of Ayya's best friend and his role has been given a very good focus by the director. His acting is not put-on during the entire course of the film.

The cinematography of the film by Saraschand DK is done just perfectly. You get to see a lot of stunning visuals of the visual era.

R Govind Raju takes the mantle of editing the film, most important aspects of the film are properly covered in the film.

The director Balaji Tharani Darshan has done a very good job in taking up a subject which is just perfect to bridge the gap between art cinema lovers and the commercial cinema lovers who will have a great time watching this flick.

The main limitation of this flick is the timing which seems to be a tad bit long and you should be prepared in advance to not miss any scenes if you are planning to watch this flick on a weekend.

Overall, my verdict for the film is don't miss this amazing flick, watch it and applaud for Vijay Sethupathi's performance.

The movie has got good response from the critics when it was screened recently to the critics.
