Muthu Engira Kaattaan: Vadivel Murugan Compares Vijay Sethupathi to Rajinikanth

Actor Vadivel Murugan has heaped praise on Vijay Sethupathi, drawing a comparison with superstar Rajinikanth when it comes to appreciating fellow artists.

Speaking ahead of the release of Muthu Engira Kaattaan, Vadivel Murugan shared that although he did not have scenes with Vijay Sethupathi, he was deeply touched by the actor’s humility and encouragement on set. He recalled how Sethupathi appreciated his writing skills and motivated him to continue developing them, highlighting the importance of storytelling sensibility for actors.

“He is a genuine person. When it comes to showing appreciation, Vijay Sethupathi is like Rajinikanth,” Vadivel Murugan said, emphasising how such gestures leave a lasting impact on artists.

Talking about audience engagement, Vadivel Murugan also dismissed concerns about runtime, stating that a compelling story is what truly holds viewers’ attention, regardless of duration.

Directed by M. Manikandan and co-directed by B. Ajith Kumar, Muthu Engira Kaattaan is set to premiere on JioHotstar on March 27.

The series also features Milind Soman, Sudev Nair, Risha, VJ Parvathy, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Muthukumar and Abi Nakshatra, with music composed by Rajesh Murugesan.

With its strong cast and grounded storytelling, the series is gearing up for its digital debut later this week.
