Arya reveals intense underwater stunt challenges in Mr X, battling freezing water and breath control ahead of April 17 release.
Ahead of the release of Mr. X on April 17, actor Arya has shared insights into one of the film’s most demanding sequences—an intense underwater stunt shot at a depth of 20 feet.
Describing the experience, Arya revealed that the biggest challenge wasn’t just the depth, but the extremely cold water temperature, which dropped to 15–16°C. “The water is ice-cold. Performing with a bare body makes you shiver, but I had to control that while holding my breath for 30–40 seconds,” he said.
The sequence demanded not just physical endurance but also mental focus. Arya explained that repeated dives were time-consuming, which meant the crew had to adapt. “Once underwater, the camera team and crew stayed submerged for nearly one-and-a-half to two hours to complete the shoot,” he added.
Despite the challenges, the actor expressed satisfaction with the final output, stating that audiences will understand the importance and scale of the sequence when they watch the film.
Directed by Manu Anand, Mr X is a multi-starrer spy thriller featuring R. Sarathkumar, Manju Warrier and Gautham Ram Karthik, along with Athulya Ravi, Raiza Wilson, Jayaprakash, Kaali Venkat and Anagha.
The film is reportedly inspired by seven real-life incidents in India between 1965 and 2023, adding a layer of realism to its action-driven narrative.
On the technical side, cinematography is by Arul Vincent, music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, and editing by Prasanna GK. The film is backed by Vineet Jain and S. Lakshman Kumar.
With its high-risk stunts and real-event inspiration, Mr X is shaping up to be an intense theatrical experience.
