Mr. Local Review: Nothing new to offer, only Nayantara and Sivakartikeyan’s chemistry are the saving grace.

Modified On: 17 May 2019 | Reviewed By:

The film is filled with illogical scenes, too many songs and Tamil cinema’s fetish to tame a ‘Thimiru Pudichava’ (Arrogant women) by the hero.

M Rajesh is known for making comedy films with one-liners. But his movies have the tendency of being repetitive and Mr. Local is one of them.

The story is about a happy-go-lucky guy lands in trouble after he locks horns with an egoistic lady. Both of them try to outsmart each other during various situations.

The story commences in a prison in Paris. The audience has to wait till the end of the movie to know why Manohar (Sivakarthikeyan) ended up being an inmate there till the climax you feel exhausted.

A care-free youngster from a middle-class family (This has become the forte of SK doing the same role in every film), who leads a happy life with his mother (Radhika) and sister, picks up a fight with Keerthana (Nayanthara), an egoistic business tycoon.

The face-off between and how the hero tames the ‘Thimiru Pudichava’ Keerthana is the crux of the film.

The film doesn’t have any new to offer. Tamil Cinema has an ample number of films which has the same story what Mr. Local has to offer.

Nayan-SK looks good on screen and their chemistry is only the saving grace of the film.

The biggest surprise of the film is the lady superstar Nayantara opted for this film where the successful female protagonist is still shown arrogant and should be shown her place.

This weekend if you have nothing to do you can go to this film if you don’t want to watch it will be a good decision.
