Kolaiseval Starring Kalaiyarasan Locks March 13 Release

Actor Kalaiyarasan’s long-delayed film Kolaiseval is finally heading to theatres. Producer RP Bala announced on Wednesday that the film will release on March 13.

Written and directed by debutant VR Thudhivaanan, the film also stars Deepa Balu, known for her role in the series Heart Beat. The announcement comes nearly three years after the makers unveiled the title and first-look poster.

Sharing the update, producer RP Bala wrote, “The long wait is over. Happy to share this with you all my families. Thank you universe. The hunt begins on March 13th! Kolaiseval hits the screens on March 13 with a bang.”

Backed by RP Bala under the RP Films banner along with Kousalya Bala, the film also features Bala Saravanan and Aadhav in supporting roles.

While the makers have kept the plot under wraps, the latest poster shows Kalaiyarasan and Deepa Balu seated outside a house with a mural of legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja in the background. The visuals suggest that the characters play a married couple, with Deepa’s character appearing pregnant.

The film’s technical team includes cinematographer PG Muthiah, music composer Santhan and editor Ajay Manoj.

Kalaiyarasan was most recently seen in Thandakaaranyam, directed by Athiyan Athirai and produced by Pa Ranjith. Up next, he will also appear in Street, directed by Harshavardhan and co-starring Ritu Varma.
