Dulquer Salmaan Shines in Meta Period Drama Kaantha—Trailer Out Now

The makers of Selvamani Selvaraj’s upcoming period drama Kaantha have unveiled its first official trailer, offering a glimpse into a layered cinematic world headlined by Dulquer Salmaan and Bhagyashri Borse.

The trailer presents Dulquer as the hero of a black-and-white film within the film, starring opposite Bhagyashri’s character. Samuthirakani appears as the director of this inner film, with Dulquer playing his disciple. The narrative explores a power struggle between the two—artistic vision versus authority—culminating in a tense moment where Dulquer’s character demands, “Keep the camera closer to my face.”

Produced by Rana Daggubati under Spirit Media, in collaboration with Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films, Kaantha also features Rana in a pivotal role. The production team includes Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese, while Thamizh Prabha contributes additional screenplay and dialogues.

Technically, the film boasts an impressive crew—cinematography by Dani Sanchez Lopez, editing by Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez, music by Jhanu Chanthar, and art direction by Ramalingam. Costumes are designed by Poojita Tadikonda, Archana Rao, and Harmann Kaur.
