AR Rahman’s peppy number ‘Abdi Abdi’ from Ravi Mohan’s Genie dazzles with energy, featuring Krithi Shetty and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
The makers of actor Ravi Mohan’s much-awaited fantasy entertainer Genie unveiled the first single, “Abdi Abdi”, on Tuesday.
The sizzling dance number features Ravi Mohan alongside the leading ladies, Krithi Shetty and Kalyani Priyadarshan, lighting up the screen with vibrant choreography and infectious energy. Composed by AR Rahman, the song is penned by Mashook Rahman and sung by Maysaa Karaa and Deepthi Suresh, with a rap segment by Freek. Abdi Abdi marks Rahman’s fourth collaboration with Ravi Mohan after Ponniyin Selvan, Ponniyin Selvan 2, and Kadhalikka Neramillai.
While the track doesn’t reveal much about the film’s plot, it hints at an intriguing twist — Ravi Mohan’s genie character, unlike traditional ones, doesn’t take orders but gives them. The song carries huge expectations, following the success of Yennai Izhukkuthadi from Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s directorial venture.
Genie also stars Devayani, Wamiqa Gabbi, and several others in key roles.
Produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner, the film is directed by Arjunan Jr. The technical crew includes cinematographer Mahesh Muthuswami, editor Pradeep E Ragav, art director Mayapandi V, and stunt director Yannick Ben.
The makers are yet to announce the official release date, but Genie already looks poised to be a grand visual and musical spectacle.
