Vilayath Buddha Teaser Out: Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Intense Power Struggle Unfolds

After years of anticipation, the makers of Vilayath Buddha finally launched its teaser on September 5, sparking excitement among cinephiles. Directed by Jayan Nambiar, a protégé of the late filmmaker Sachy, the film adapts GR Indugopan’s celebrated novel of the same name.

The story revolves around the tense conflict between Bhaskaran Master (Shammy Thilakan) and his former student Double Mohanan (Prithviraj Sukumaran). At its heart lies their power struggle over the ownership of a sandalwood tree, serving as both a literal and symbolic battleground.

Initially announced in 2020, Vilayath Buddha began filming in October 2022 but faced multiple setbacks. The most significant delay occurred when Prithviraj suffered an injury during a 2023 action sequence in Marayoor, requiring surgery and a three-month recovery.

The supporting cast includes Anu Mohan, Priyamvada Krishnan, Kottayam Ramesh, and Teejay Arunasalam. On the technical front, the film boasts Kantara cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, music composer Jakes Bejoy, and editor Sreejith Sarang, ensuring a rich cinematic experience.
