Tovino Thomas Calls Kamal Haasan a ‘Superhuman’, Picks Michael Madana Kama Rajan as Favourite

Tovino Thomas is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Pallichattambi, directed by Dijo Jose Anthony, which is slated for release on April 10. The film also stars Kayadu Lohar in a lead role.

During a conversation with Sudir Srinivasan, Tovino opened up about his inspirations in acting, singling out Kamal Haasan for his extraordinary versatility. “For different characters, that is something Kamal Haasan does. And he is another superhuman, in my idea,” he remarked.

When asked about his favourite film of the legendary actor, Tovino quickly named Michael Madana Kama Rajan. He particularly praised the film’s iconic climax sequence, where Kamal Haasan appears in four distinct roles with identical looks.

Highlighting the brilliance of the performance, Tovino noted that despite the visual similarity, audiences can easily distinguish each character through subtle body language—even without dialogue. He described the sequence as a true “masterclass of acting.”
