Sharaf U Dheen–Anupama Parameswaran’s ‘The Pet Detective’ Locks October 16 Release!

After multiple postponements, the much-awaited Malayalam film The Pet Detective, starring Sharaf U Dheen and Anupama Parameswaran, is all set to hit theatres on October 16. The makers confirmed the release date along with news that the film’s trailer will be unveiled soon.

The Pet Detective marks the directorial debut of Praneesh Vijayan, who co-wrote the film with Jai Vishnu. Both have previously collaborated on Sharaf U Dheen-starrers—Praneesh as co-writer of Happy Wedding (2016) and Jai Vishnu as one of the writers of Madhura Manohara Moham (2023).

The film also features Vinay Forrt and Joemon Jyothi in key roles. It is jointly produced by Sharaf U Dheen and Gokulam Gopalan under Sree Gokulam Movies and Sharaf U Dheen Productions, with Baiju Gopalan and VC Praveen as co-producers and Krishnamoorthy as executive producer.

On the technical front, The Pet Detective boasts an impressive crew—Rajesh Murugesan handles the music, with lyrics by Adhri Joe and Shabareesh Varma; Anend C Chandran serves as the cinematographer; Abhinav Sundar Nayak is the editor; Dino Shankar takes charge of production design; and Mahesh Mathew choreographs the stunts.

With its intriguing premise and stellar cast, The Pet Detective promises to be a refreshing mix of humour, mystery, and emotion this October.
